Poly Cocktails was started on Valentine’s Day 2007 by three polyamorous activists and friends as a way to create a social outlet for the local polyamory community in New York. From a small crowd at their first event at Madame X in the East Village to a bustling monthly Delancey Rooftop meetup, Poly Cocktails has grown to become the largest regular social gathering in New York. The event celebrated their 17th anniversary in February 2024 after reconvening in July 2022.
