House Rules

Learn – Poly Cocktails is for learning about polyamory and developing friendships and connections. It is not a play space, nor a cruising space. No nudity, kink, or sex play is permitted at the event.

Open communications – Poly Cocktails is a place to exercise open communications with intention, foster interactive dialogue, facilitate trust, develop your listening skills, and give and receive support.

Verbal Consent – We encourage everyone to obtain verbal consent and explicit negotiations (as modeled at Cuddle Parties) before initiating physical contact (e.g. hugging).

Expectations – Check them at the door! Interest in polyamory does not signal sexual availability or indicate sexual orientation.

Respectful behavior toward hosts and guests is required.

Safer Space – Poly Cocktails is a safer space for all sexual orientations and gender/kink identities, as well as those who identify as monogamous. This space centers and supports marginalized voices, including but not limited to BIPoC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodiverse, mentally ill, poor, sex workers, women, elderly, and youth. Bigotry and/or hate speech in any form is not tolerated and will be grounds for removal from the event. No photography, video or recording of any kind is allowed without prior verbal consent of all parties involved (including those who may appear in the background).*

*Media Policy

Poly Cocktails is a safer space and no media, producers, interviewers, or researchers will be allowed to attend in a professional capacity, escorted or not. Any attendees who are approached by the media at Poly Cocktails should report them immediately to a host, who will ask the media person and the person(s) who brought them to Poly Cocktails to leave. No media interviews will be granted at Poly Cocktails.
